Greece is established as a country (by East Indian Company) after 1829.

Well they are suppose to be sister citys,but dont look att hat thats just a drop in the oecan.the english language is made up of 70 %greek origin words and some words used in english are so damm important that they can only use the bastardized form of the greek word in to english..i cant understand why so many people hate greeks !! when its clear our language is used every day in the english language,,are you all just unpriciative or just simply jealous that you dont have your own words to discribe things !!..like for instance….democracy….umm excuse me !it is greek. but enough i wont go any futher than that because if you open up an english dictionary and randomlly pick a word the likenessnes will almost be of greek origin…..there is latin as well but lets not forget latin is a form of greek ,which so many words of latin are borrowed grek words..but i wont say that greeks are the sole intiators,we bowrred the phonecian alphabet ..but not thier language..just like you english borrowed the arabic numerals….please when is english going to make up thier own words and number systems…surley they could have named all those places you put to us in your question..(SMITH)..but wait smith is a germanic name… …ohh well…

Well, the new-born American State, after the Declaration of Independence, was inspired by Greek history and culture: the idea of democracy was very important in the new American State, after its Independence from England.
You see, the American Constitution says: "All men are created equal…": this is a concept of democracy, developed for the first time in Greece.
The Americans at that time liked very much Greek culture, the White House looks like a Greek temple too.
So when they colonized new places and built new cities and towns, they gave them Greek names.
Greek culture was also absorbed by Universities (the "Greek" system), and they also took from the Roman history (the "Capitol Hill", the "Senate", etc.).

America is made up of people from all over the world, our towns and cities and states are named after many places in the world that are older than our country, not just Greece. for example: New "York", New "Orleans", New "Mexico" just to name a few. Some of these places were ruled by and named by the ruling country before they became part of the united states.

Same here in Aegean Macedonia under Greece: after the Balkan wars 1913 Greece occupied Aegean Macedonia and changed all toponimes from Macedonian into Greek.
That is why after Greek colonization with Greek refugees from Asia Minor into Aegean Macedonia all new cities are named as Nea Calicratia, Neos Ephesos, Nea Moudania, etc. The real.old Calicratia, Ephesos…are still in Turkey, Asia Minor and wait for their Greek inhabitans who live in Aegean Macedonia and pretend to be "Macedonians"??!!
