Should I snowboard or ski?
Ok so ok going to a place called perfect north slopes this Sunday and I am debating rather to snowboard or ski, last year I skied and thought it was ok, I skate alot and my dad can go down double black diamounds in the west like Colorado and Utah and more ( on skis so maybe its in my blood lol ) but my friend is a really good snowboarder and he says I should try it it’s so fun.. I have really good balance and I usually learn things very quickly one thing that i’m afraid of is learning how. to stop it looks hard also I will be taking lessons for either one I do by the way i’m 12 so it’s a. good age to learn …
For some reason though I want to snowboard a little more but I’m afraid of making a fool out of myself infront of my friend who is really good
Thanks for your answers I appericate it
snowboarding looks way more badass lol so thats what i would do

Skis are a little easier to manage. And when you crash it doesn’t hurt as bad because your feet are not both connected to one board when you ski.

Sounds like you are leaning towards the snowboard. There are advantages and disadvantages with both. However, most kids your age are picking snowboards over skis. Manufacturers of equipment and clothing are targeting the youth snowboarder market more so than the youth skiers.
Take the lessons! If your friend is a good friend, they might tease you a little, but they should be willing to help you out when you need it. If they don’t, then you have found that they weren’t as good of a friend as you thought they were.

If you only go skiing/snowboarding once or twice a year you should definitely ski. Skiing is easy to pick up fast, but most snowboarders say the first day of snowboarding is awful. I ski and snowboard and both of the sports are a lot of fun but I do prefer skiing and you will have a better time as a beginner.

I would personally recommend skiing but this really depends on how much effort you are prepared to put into it. Skiing more skillful than snowboarding, however this also means that it will be harder to learn. One of the reasons snowboarding is so popular is that it is quite easy to pick up. Experts say that you can learn to snowboard properly in about a 4 weeks where skiinng is definatly longer. The question of what you want to do is also quite important as while snowboarding is great fun off-piste in powder etc, it is pretty miserable on pistes especially harder one like black diamonds which are often more icy and therefore extremely difficult and not much fun on a snowboard.
Hope this helped you a bit!
