Why do people say that women are the better looking gender when they have to do so much to look good.?
They say that 50% of a woman’s beauty is allusion. I mean men do not have to do much to look good. Most men wear little or no makeup. Women by contrast have to put on makeup to look good. Men can also look good in a variety of ways;We can be strong or masculine looking and still be handsome like Brad Pitt or skinny and pretty boyish like Zac Efron. Women by contrasts can only look good by being feminine. Men can look good with no hair like Vin Diesel or Michael Jordan, or with long hair like Johnny Deep. Women by contrasts cannot look good bald. You seen Britney Spear’s bald look that was horrible.

you are sexist and gay.
i dont mind that youre gay. nothing is wrong with it at all, i just hope you arent the self hating "in the closet" kind.

I agree that woman do not look good bald but makeup is intended to add to a woman’s natural beauty. It does not have to be applied for a woman to be beautiful.

why are people so rebellious and stubborn ?
the world is getting worse by the day …

earthquakes, volcanos erupting, hurricane, flood in diverse places, famine, tsunami, haiti …

when God sent jonah the prophet to nineveh with a message that God will destroy that city in 40 days, the king + the whole city REPENTED of their sins.

God then repented of destroying the city.

my Q is :
if natural disasters cannot open yr eyes to REPENT OF YOUR SINS,

what will make you repent of your sins … when you’re in hell ?

that would be too late bc hell is not a place to repent,
it is a place of more torture …

yes, this is the voice of a christian .. not jonah the prophet … but a christian who is sick
of seeing disasters happening …… imploring my fellow humans to REPENT OF THEIR SINS.

now, what do you say .. will you repent ?

Natural disasters have happened all the time since the Earth existed, dipshit.

If you think things are any worse than they were in the past, you are about as ignorant of history as you can get.
Caboose | Jan 30, 2010

1. You’re stupid.
2. Disasters have happened throughout history, eg. Pompeii.
3. Study some geography.
magnets | Jan 30, 2010

Natural disasters are the result of nature running it’s course, and have always occurred and will always occur.

It has nothing to do with "god" or "sin".
Alicia | Jan 30, 2010

I think the fact that you will use other people’s tragedies to further your misguided principles is completely twisted. God was all about helping your fellow man, not condemning him.
livelaughlove | Jan 30, 2010

If God punishes those who sin and hurts those that don’t, are you telling me there weren’t ANY devout religious people who lived good lives who have died in any natural disaster?
Super Atheist to the Rescue | Jan 30, 2010

But the real gospel is repent and live like Jesus and the disasters wont happen. The repenting is not to avoid hell. But to live the same life as Jesus.

.
mare | Jan 30, 2010

A lot of people are rebelling against the effect of religious nonsense on our society, as your question so aptly illustrates.
gutbucket | Jan 30, 2010

Actually, the world is in better shape by any statistical measure now than at any time in human history — you should study more.

And I don’t have any sins to repent for, and the magic jesus story is a fairy tale.

Oh, by the way — if your god had to "repent" for destroying a city, that means your god makes mistakes…how is that a god?

Sorry, but your magical claims have no supporting evidence and are logically self-contradictory. I’ll continue to not believe them.

Peace.
WellTraveledProg | Jan 30, 2010

How about you get off your little pedestal, because you seem to be on par with the "sinners" who don’t repent.
Anyway natural disasters happened wayy before mankind. Also if you were a true Christian you would forget the Abrahamic God which destroys anyone he dislikes, because this isn’t the love that Jesus promoted.
TAI <3 | Jan 30, 2010

Natural disasters have always occurred with the same degree of frequency, if you look back 50 years things were just as bad, 100 years and things were worse. I’m an atheist, a happy, moral, righteous non-violent atheist. I find people like you to be foolish at best, two faced amoral snakes at worst. Religion is the cause of evil, not the cure of it. It divides mankind, brings about violence, encourages ignorance, and steals all the natural kindness that belongs to the human heart.

Fourth Angel, The

Fourth Angel, The
Fourth Angel, The (2001)

IMDB rating: 5.40

Plot: Jack Elgin is the European editor of The Economist, which is based in London, England. Jack has a wife named Maria and three kids named Joanne, Julia, and Andrew. Jack subtly changes the family vacation from a lazy week of Mediterranean fun and sun in Corfu, Greece, to a tour of India, because of a story he has to cover. Maria is not as impressed by this as the kids are. Jack himself envisioned a chance to simultaneously work an easy reporting assignment and spend a little quality time with his family. But on the way to India, the airplane, a 747 owned by AM Air, an American airline, makes an unscheduled stopover in Limassol Cyprus, because of a mechanical problem. After a while of waiting inside the Limassol airport, everyone gets back on the plane — which is then hijacked by a group of terrorists known as the August 15th Movement, led by a Serbian man named Ivanic Loyvek and his right-hand man Karadan Maldic. And they are demanding $50,000,000 from the US State Department in one hour, or everyone on the airplane will die. The demand is met, and Loyvek and Maldic start releasing the women and children, with the men to go last. But as soon as a front passenger door is opened, a local police team gunning for the terrorists opens fire. The flight attendants frantically open the rest of the airplane’s doors and start getting passengers out, but the terrorists start killing passengers, leading to an explosion. Maria, Joanne, and Julia get out of the airplane, and then Jack, holding Andrew, gets out — only to watch Maria, Joanne, and Julia get shot by the terrorists. Jack tries to hide Andrew’s face so he can’t see it. Maria and Joanne are dead, and Julia is still alive — but Julia burns to death while crying for help. Jack and Andrew survive. In all, a total of 15 passengers die, and Loyvek and Maldic, the surviving terrorists, escape, knowing that they now have the $50,000,000. The hijacking would never have ended this way if the police team had waited until after the passengers were released from the airplane before getting trigger happy. Back in London, an absolutely devastated Jack is told that the terrorists were captured, but they were released and deported secretly, with no charges and no arrest, the result of some awfully compromised politics. Jack is understandably enraged that Loyvek and Maldic got off scot-free. While helping Andrew cope, Jack tries all the legal ways to ensure justice for his family, but to no avail. Jack even pays a visit to Henry Davidson, a CIA agent who works at the American Embassy in London. Davidson tells Jack that there’s little that can be done. Obviously, the American and British governments are completely impotent when it comes to going after Loyvek and Maldic, so Jack has absolutely no choice in the matter. He must do it himself. With the help of his ex-intelligence operative friend Kate Stockton, who is well-schooled in the finer points of international intelligence, Jack becomes a one-man anti-terrorist squadron, searching for Loyvek and Maldich. Dogging Jack’s trail is FBI agent Jules Bernard, who’s cooperating with Scotland Yard on anti-terrorist activities, and who suspects that Jack is the man who has been killing anyone involved in the hijacking. But as it turns out, Jules is on Jack’s side, and he’s willing to help Jack make those responsible pay for the deaths of his family and the other people who died in Cyprus.

ramadan : sayings of our fourth imam ?
* Who honors himself dishonors worldly things.

* The company of the righteous invites you to goodness.

* Beware of keeping company with the sinful and helping the unjust.

* The right of your child is that you know that he has come from you to this world and his right and wrong are attributed to you. You are responsible for teaching and training him, guiding him to his Lord, Almighty and Glorious, and assisting him to obey Him. Therefore, be sure that if you do a favor to your child, you will obtain it and if you act viciously against him, it will come back to you, too.

* There are no drops which are dearer to Allah than two kinds of drops: Drops of blood shed in Allah’s cause (Jehad) and the tears dropped in the darkness of night for which a servant does not want any thing except pleasure of Allah.

* Do not make anyone your enemy even though you consider him harmless and do not turn down a person’s friendship even if you think he will not benefit you.

* Beware of keeping company with a liar for he is like a mirage (deceptive). He shows you the near one as distant and the distant thing as nearby.

* Abstain from lies both small and big and in all conditions whether joking or serious.

* A person said to Imam Sajjad (A.S.)" Oh Son of the Prophet (saw) how did you start your morning?" He replied, "I commenced the morning with eight things being demanded of me. Allah demands the obligatory, Prophet (saw) demands (his) sunnah, the family asks for sustenance, the soul demands lust (desires), satan demands (me to commit) sin, the protectors (two angels who write down both good and bad deeds of man while they also protect and defend him against mishaps) demand the sincerity of practice, the angel of death demands the soul and the grave demands (my) body. I am stationed among such affairs being demanded of me."

* Sins which terminate the blessings are: oppression against people, abandoning piety, not commanding good deeds, ingratitude for blessings and favors, and not giving thanks.

* The right of your mother is that you know she has carried you (in her womb) in a manner that nobody has carried the other. And fed you from the fruit of her heart in a way that nobody has fed the other. She protected you happily with her ears, eyes, hands, feet, hair, skin and all of her body parts while bearing all the pains, agonies, discomforts and burdens till the time Allah’s hand detached you from her to the earth. Then she was contented that she remained hungry and fed you and dressed you up remaining nude herself and quenched your thirst while she was thirsty, she put you in the shade while she herself remained under the sun and brought you up with the extreme comforts while herself (remaining) in hardship. She makes you enjoy the sweet sleep while she is awake. Her womb was a soothing and comforting place for you. Her breasts were a means of quenching your thirst. And her existence was a shield for protecting you. She endured the hot and cold of the world for your sake.
There fore, you must also thank her in the same manner and you do not have the capability and power of doing it but with the assistance of Allah and His grace.

* A Mujahid who is martyred for Allah’s cause does not deserve as much reward as a person who chooses not to sin despite having the power to do so. Such a person may even become one of the chaste angels.

Hairstyle for Wedding?
I’m having a hard time deciding what to do with my hair for my wedding, whether I should have it all up or just partially up.

I don’t have a picture, but my dress is straight neckline strapless and rouched on the bodice. It has a bit of a drop waist and no beading. It then A lines out from the dropped waist and has a very short train.

My hair is dark brown down to the middle of my shoulder blades (and will probably grow another two inches before the wedding in June) and it’s fine but not sparse or thin and I’m pretty sure I won’t be wearing a veil, but a beaded headband.

Any suggestions would be a huge help.

can a house bring you bad luck?
i live in a house on 30 acres on top of a hill.. its a really old house and sometimes i think its haunted!!

we have had bad luck after bad luck after bad luck!!

when i moved here i met a guy who ended up being very aggressive beating not only me but also my mum.. after this my parents got a divorce.. i then found another guy who ended up being a compulsive liar and cheated on me all the time..

Not long later my dad suffered from amneisure! my brother has raced motor bikes since he was 5 and as soon as we moved to this house he’s broke 7 bones.. and he has had 5 bikes stolen from us!! the bikes are left in the shed and have alwasy been locked up!! he had a bike stolen from him last night and the shed had 5 padlocks and a key lock securing it!!

we have always been a well off family we owned our own business, but as soon as we moved here our business went down hill and we went bankrupt.

about 2 years after my dad got amneisure he then suffered from cancer!!

it just seems like nothing ever goes right, we are always having bad luck!!

do you think this is possible?? we are highly considering moving house

The actual house per se can’t bring you bad luck but… The house, the location of it, the surroundings of it and so on can influence how you as a person feel and react. The atmosphere around you will always affect you, your mood and your well being.

My sister did just that not long ago. She had a good relationship going and then she got married and moved to a new apartment. The moment I first walked into the apartment I knew it wasn’t good for her and her family. The placement of it was "wrong", the layout was "uncomfortable" and the whole area where they had moved had a "bad atmosphere". Her husbands mentality changed first, then her own, then the kids started to get sick. A couple of years later the got divorced and she moved to another apartment, when I walked into it I knew that it was the best thing that had happened to her and once again I was correct. She’s blooming and she’s met a new man by now.

The thing is that I can’t point to specific things and say "this is wrong" and "this is good", it’s about a general feeling that I probably have gotten through many years of experience.

Your mood in general can (and will) affect what kind of man you attract. It’s something that you don’t see yourself, something about you, that draw that kind of man to you. The general mood you get from the place where you live can very well attribute to it.

Illness too, if the house and surroundings are "dragging you down" then you will be more susceptible to illnesses. The same goes for accidents, your mental state is very important and if something is pressuring your mind you will be more likely to have an accident.

Break ins are also connected to location. Some locations are more likely to draw the thieves out and it’s obvious that the place where your brother store the bikes is such a place. Alternative would be to see what you can change about the location, cutting down bushes or growing bushes, adding extra light and so on. But that’s a long process that might not work out in the end.

Your thoughts about moving makes sense to me. The other solution would be to change almost everything about the house and the surroundings and it might not work out in the end.

My good friend is unaware that her young daughter?
is on facebook. The child spent the night with my daughter and told me that her Daddy made a facebook page for her and didn’t want her Mom to know. I feel I should tell her. Our children play together. The parents of the girl are divorced. The father has a very bad temper. I don’t think a Father should ask his child to keep this a secret from her own Mother. How should I go about telling the Mom? I don’t want to get too involved, but ……….
She is 10.
I am a good friend with the Mother, have never even seen the Daddy.
Him telling her to keep it a secret from the Mom is my concern. What if someone told your child to keep a secret from you? BIG RED FLAG?

Leigh | Feb 03, 2010

if you feel its your business to tell her mom, just slip it in to casual conversation like "oh your daughter added me on facebook, she’s growing up so fast!"
then you’re telling her but not tattling on her daughter.
then she also has an avenue to take care of it in her own way, because you’re not saying it to her in a way where she could embarrass herself with her reaction.
good luck!
suppastar101 | Feb 03, 2010

Yep, and it’s unfair to the child to hold secrets from mom.
You should casually bring it up.
tammee | Feb 03, 2010

This is really kinda tough. But personally I would say to my good friend hey girl, - didn’t know you allowed what’s her name to have a face book page! I don’t allow my daughter to have one. Without even mentioning what’s his name. That way she can ask her daughter and then she’d have to tell. If she lies then I hate to say this but, then you blame it on your daughter and say oh that’s what you know your daughter said. But explain this to your daughter first, because if she doesn’t agree with you using her name then I probably wouldn’t say anything. Your daughter might agree idk. She will find out sooner or later. Tell her to check her web browser after daughter gets off the computer I do it all the time. Ha, ha.

i would stay out of it .. its none of your business and youd just be stirring stuff up between them and it would cause problems / headache for you tha tyou dont need

curiousme | Feb 03, 2010

I think you should tell her. I am not sure how "young" the child is but I think you have to be 14 to join facebook. I think that facebook is unsafe.
Savannah | Feb 04, 2010

If she isn’t thirteen yet then you tell her mum. Facebook is not for young children. It’s for teens and older. They don’t have age rules because they look pretty on the screen.

There was actually someone on here yesterday saying she was going to sue her child’s school because she was being bullied on facebook. The child was TEN. I’d expect any headteacher to call social services in that situation - schools should not be expected to protect kids in situations which their parents should simply never have allowed them to be in.
cathrl69 | Feb 04, 2010

I say tell the mother, because what if someone was abusing, would you ignore it because you were told not to tell? I hope you would tell. I say be honest, and upfront,
ScottiesWife | Feb 04, 2010

My sister has one. I had one. But our mom took them away due to gossip issues and stuff. So now we don’t.

I think you should stay out of it. It’s really not your business.

People REALLY underestimate children nowadays though!! Times have changed. They mature faster now. As long as the girl knows her internet safety and is careful about what she says, Facebook is 100% okay!

But again, it will just cause issues with the whole family if you interfere. You’ll probably hear from the father and the daughter will be upset if it is taken away from her and the mother will be mad at the father and YOU would have caused it. Don’t get involved. It’s just trouble for you.
