IMDB rating: 8.00 Plot: Regina Lambert returns to Paris from a ski holiday in Switzerland to find that her husband has been murdered. She is later told by CIA agent Hamilton Bartholemew that Charles Lambert was one of five men who stole $250,000 in gold from the U.S. government during World War II, and the government wants it back. The money was not found among his possessions, and Regina can shed no light on its whereabouts. Later that day she is visited by Peter Joshua, whom she had met briefly while on holiday. When her husband’s former partners in crime, who were double-crossed by Charles, start calling her looking for the money, Peter offers to help find it. Thus begins an elaborate charade in which nothing is what it seems to be. |

Do you think Olivia Benson should be excluded from field police work and work as a social worker?
Judging from what I’ve seen since the beginning, episodes like Futility where Liv gets hit, Fault where she gets cut causing Elliot to run to her, therefore undermining the SVU team’s morale and cohesion, and mission accomplishment. Two episodes where she gets kidnapped, and Undercover.
I do not call that a strong female who truly makes a great field cop and operative. I just see Benson looking bad compared to Stabler and the others when something happens to her. If the writers don’t want to have Olivia be sent to a psychiatric facility to get help, and get some serious retraining, I personally think they ought to have her excluded from field duties, and confined to a minor job like working at a desk or being a social worker, or a rape crisis counselor. Before you get me wrong, I think Liv does have potential to be a very good field operative and a good fighter if not the greatest in the world, and she has some strong points, I don’t really agree with people saying she does good on the street when she’s really 60% ineffective and just pulling a charade, instead of being a policewoman at the crucial moment. To me, Det. Benson is just another example of a stereotypical female cop. Mariska Hargitay is pretty and plays Benson very well. I just don’t really like her character. I quit watching Law and Order SVU because of how she’s always been portrayed by Dick Wolf for the most part. She’s got potential, but she seems more of a poison and a liability to Elliot and the rest of the team than an asset.
It’s a television show…fiction…it does not matter…it’s just TV.
